Interestingly, despite their names in English, the Thrush Nightingale is actually the species that would be more familar to Carl Linneaus as a naturalist in Sweden, hence why it's binomial is functionally nightingale nightingale. North East Europe represents the very West most point of their range which extends into central Russia an Kazakstan.
