A far more substantial bird than the more common Coppersmith Barbet - the Lineated barbet is an introduced species in Singapore, but is apparently getting more established in forested areas.  Barbets as a family are largely frugivores.  Like their relatives the woodpeckers, they are cavity dwellers which they excavate in trees.
