An incredibly widely distributed and adaptable gull species which can be found in any part of the lower 48, it represents one of the smaller Larus species. They are an adaptable species that has succeeded in many human created habitats, and is also traditionally one of the North American species that has the biggest history of vagrancy to Europe.
