The smallest of the British Galliformes by a fair margin, the Quail is also the only migratory ones with it Wintering in the Sahel of Northern Africa, a habitat dominated by grassland and acacia trees. They are very difficult to actually see as they are prefer to dwell in longer grass where they cannot be so easily spotted by predators, aided by their cryptic plumage pattern.
