A large and characterful wren, and one of the more common species seen around Tarcoles, where it was seen around more disturbed habitats including the grounds of my accomodation, often in small groups. They are bold, often being one of the first species to emerge from cover, and often with their family group it tow. It was recently split from Russet-naped Wren and Velacruz Wren, which are both found in Mexico.
