The Warty Crab is a shallow water species found in the Mediterranean, Black Sea and adjoining Atlantic coasts. They are predators focusing on small invertibrates and have a powerful crushing ability, for instance being the only crab species capacble of reaking the shells of the snail Rapana venosa in the Black Sea.
