A species of rabbit found in the Western united States edging into the very South of Canada. They primarily feed on sagebrush and grasses, as well as other species such as juniper although they will adapt to other species as needed. They are found in habitats up to 6000ft in altitude.

The most common rabbit species of the Eastern USA, unlike European Rabbits they rest in shallow dug out scrapes named forms like Brown Hares do rather than digging burrows. They are found across the entire Eastern United States except the most Northerly corner of New England, and their range extends into Central and South America.
