A small slender lizard remeniscent of the lacertids of the old world but actually more closely related to tegus. They are found from Mexico to Costa Rica where they are primarily ground dwelling predators dwelling in dyr banks and forests. As the name implies, they are a very quick species capable of dashing at high speeds after prey.
