The most common and recognisable of starfish species in the UK, the Atlantic Common Starfish is a versatile and common predator of British Coasts feeding on various molluscs, worms, other starfish and even carrion.  It is primarily found along the Atlantic coasts of Europe, but is also found on the Eastern Seaboard of North America.
