The silky-flycatchers of ptiliogonatidae are a tiny group of just four species all found in a narrow range from the Southern USA to Panama, with the long-tailed being the most range restricted of them, found only in the Talamancan Montane Forests of Costa Rica and Panama. They like to call from exposed branches on the canopy.
