A small, social species of toucan endemic to the Pacific slope region in Costa Rica and Panama in wet forests. As seen in the photo here, their diet is largely fruit based which they travel for in small flocks, sometimes in the company of other toucan species. Their range has a small overlap with the closely related Collared Aracari not far North of of where I saw this species.
