Laughing Dove (Spilopelia senegalensis)

A small and dainty species of pigeon that has adapted well to living around humans and has an extensive range from East Africa to Western China, generally in warm and dry habitats. They are often seen in pairs or small groups foraging on the ground. Their British language name comes from their call which does indeed have a slightly laugh like quality to it.
