Marbled White (Melanargia galathea)

Despite the name and appearance, the Marbled White is infact a member of the "Browns" family of butterflies. It is quite a striking species with an attractive pattern both above the wings and below. Although widely distributed, it isn't necessarily that common a butterfly to actually see.
