Ringlet (Aphantopus hyperantus)

As it flits by, this butterfly sstands a good chance of looking like it is a purely black or dark brown species, but closer inspection will reveal the ringlets that give it it's name. During the right time of the year it can be the most numerous butterfly in certain habitats, although it is relatively flighty, so might take a bit of perseverance to capture on photo.
