Green Tiger Beetle (Cicindela campestris)

A large distinctive beetle found on Heath and Dunes - it is one of five Tiger Beetle species found in the UK, and probably the most famous. It has an easily recognisable colour scheme which will make it one of the simpler ground beetles to distinguish. It is a predatory species which chases down prey on the ground, so can move surprisingly fast.
